Hang up your memories for long lasting beauty with our polaroid frame project!
Polaroid Frame Craft for Long Lasting Memories
On a warm summer evening last September, my sister and I met with our dear friends Chloe and Ellie for a late-summer tea party at Chloe’s apartment.. We got dolled up in pretty dresses to enjoy lavender cookies and lemon tea, and at some point Chloe pulled out her treasured Polaroid camera to take pictures. Grouped together with our arms around each other, our smiling faces were captured forever in a moment of love and friendship. I look forward to looking at these photos for years to come and remembering that special afternoon.
Thanks to celebrity Polaroid-lovers like Taylor Swift, these nifty cameras are a growing trend. The soft, vintage-style images produced Polaroid cameras are flattering and unique, and taking a photo with your Polaroid is fun and spontaneous! In case you're not familiar with what a Polaroid is, here’s the low-down:
A Polaroid is an instant camera; a camera, flash, and printer all wrapped up in one. Snap a quick shot, and almost immediately, a white rectangle of film slides out one end of this nifty gadget. After a few moments, the image develops right before your eyes, and you can see your special moment captured on film. The process is unique and fun, and the photos produced by Polaroid cameras are usually of great quality. Since there’s only one copy of every photo, these images are precious.
The idea of having just one copy of a photo is novel and exciting in this age of digitized media. Usually, out of all the photos we take on our phones, almost none get printed off and displayed. While my Mom’s house is filled with framed pictures of our family in its early stages, I hardly ever print out any of the snapshots I have stored on my phone or computer. Polaroid’s are perfect for capturing moments in a spontaneous way, and the all-in-one printing process saves a lot of hassle. Plus, finding ways to display your photos can be super fun!
In case you're not quite sold on the instant-photo trend, but still want a way to commemorate special memories, look no further than a company like Printstagram or Kanvess. It’s easy to access your Instagram profile through these sites, and then it’s just a three or four step process to select and order dozens of beautiful, personal photo prints. Companies like Canvas Pop can even print your image onto a canvas to showcase in your living room or bedroom. Below, I've included some pictures showing you how I arranged and displayed my old and new Polaroid snaps on simples cardstock in a cute frame.
Taking photos has never been easier, but finding creative ways print and display them can be tricky. Get creative with fun Insta-prints and maybe even give a Polaroid Camera a whirl. You never know what treasures you might end up snapping!
All you need for this Polaroid Project is:
- Picture Frame
- Cardstock
- Polaroids
- Other keepsakes: (dry flowers, party invites, movie stubs, confetti)

That's it, It's even easier than 1, 2, 3. Now you'll have your memories up for everyone to enjoy… Much better than in an old shoebox under the bed.
