Want to Make Your Own Loofah Soap? Here's How!

Here's What You Will Be Needing:

Step 1: Cut Your Loofah

First up, gather everything you need and place them on your working table. Get out your clean chopping board, your plain loofah, and your knife.

Cut your loofah crosswise into pieces that are about one inch thick. Make sure to cut even pieces so that you have a uniform batch.

Step 2: String Time!

Get your yarn or any thick fabric string and cut in five inches and tie each loofah. This will serve as an easy way to take the soap later from the mold and a soap holder.

Step 3: Whip Out the Muffin Tin!

Place all your loofah circles in all the cups of your tin and ensure that the string is left outside of the depressions.

Set the muffin tin aside because we are about to prepare the soap!

Step 4: Melt Your Soap

Cut your glycerin into small pieces and melt it over the stove or in the microwave. Make sure that you will not let it reach the boiling point.

Add your soap dye and mix it properly to distribute the color evenly.

Note: If you want to use different colors per loofah soap, pour your melted glycerin soap into different containers for each color.

Step 5: Pour Onto the Muffin Tins

Once you have all your colors ready and mixed, it's time to pour them into your muffin or cupcake tins where your loofah circles are sitting!

Let it dry completely and pop it out for your very own loofah soap to use!
