DIY Pool Heater To Keep Your Swimming Pool Warm

Materials:

Step 1: Prepare Your Materials

One DIY pool heater pad is not enough to be functional in a pool. Depending on the size of your pool, you're going to want to make enough pads to heat your pool.

For reference, prepare materials that will make enough pads to cover at least one-third the size of your pool.

Step 2: Insert the Hula Hoop Into the Garbage Bag

Simply insert the hula hoop inside of the garbage bag. Gather all excess sides of the bag and tuck them around the hula hoop. Use duct tape to secure them in place.

Make sure not to leave any openings where water can seep in. Any holes and tears can be covered up by the duct tape.

Step 3: Prepare the Pool Noodles

Each hula hoop will need one pool noodle. Cut each noodle into three pieces and slice a vertical slit on each piece. Insert these into the hula hoop. Make sure to evenly place them around the hoop.

Since the slits are thin enough to keep the hoops snug, you don't need to secure them using duct tape.

Step 4: Enjoy Your New and Inexpensive DIY Pool Heaters

While these pool heaters are easy to make, they're also easy to store and take in and out of the pool. Check these once in a while and make sure that no water seeps in.

Make sure not to leave these heaters in your pool when you're not using them. Different factors like weather and stray animals can cause them to wear down easily.

This homemade device harnesses the heat of the sun and transfers it to the water of the pool to warm the water. The more you make, the faster it can make the water warm, and more effective it is.
