Natural cleaning products are good for the environment and great for your health as well. Many over-the-counter cleaners contain harmful and oftentimes toxic products that can lead to a range of health issues. We'll show you how to make your very own natural cleaning products.

Natural Cleaners You Can Use at Home for Your DIY Projects

1. Lemon Juice For Bathroom Cleaning

Instructions:

Mix everything in a bowl to create a paste-like substance. Use a sponge and apply it to bathtubs and sinks. Apply a small portion first on the tub to try, making sure that the paste doesn’t scrape or brush the surface.

If it does, just apply a small portion or remove salt from the ingredients. Once you’re done, rinse well with water and dry with a clean rag.

2. Olive Oil For Furniture

  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • juice from 1/4 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • drops lemon essential oil (optional)

Instructions:

Mix the ingredients together. Dip the rag from the mixture and squeeze out the excess water.

Wipe the surfaces off the furniture. You can also use the same ingredients for polishing stainless steel.

3. Vinegar For Deep Stains

  • 1 cup vinegar
  • essential oil

Instructions:

Pour in the baking soda and then slowly pour down the cup of vinegar. It’s normal that the baking soda will react to the vinegar, so don’t worry about it.

Make sure that the vinegar covers the bowl surface. You can add essential oil. With a toilet brush scrub surface to get rid of the stains.

4. Washing Soda For Any Surfaces

  • 1 tablespoon washing soda
  • Borax
  • Dishwashing soap
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 4 cups hot water

Instructions:

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl before putting into a spray bottle to make sure that the ingredients are mixed pretty well. You can use this mixture on any surfaces. Spray and wipe!

5. Vinegar As Glass Cleaner

  • 1 1/2 cups vinegar
  • 10 drops essential oil
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions:

Pour all the ingredients into a bowl and put it on a spray bottle. Spray it on glass and use crumpled newspaper.

This also works well to shine chrome and countertops after you’ve disinfected them.

6. Borax For Dishwashing

  • Borax
  • 1/2 cup salt

Instructions:

Add all the ingredients then store them in a container. This can be used in two processes, first, add 1 tablespoon to each of the 2 compartments in your dishwasher and next is add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to your rinse compartment.

7. Vinegar and Borax As Floor Cleaner

  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 8-10 cups hot water
  • Borax
  • 1 tablespoon washing soda

Instructions:

First, add the baking soda and vinegar. Next, pour hot water, borax, then the washing soda. You can add essential oil for added scent.

Mix all the ingredients make sure that the powder is dissolved. Wipe the floor with a mop or sponge.

8. Baking Soda To Clean Stainless Steel

  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 cups warm water

Instructions:

Add baking soda, vinegar, and warm water. Make sure to mix the ingredients well.

Once the mixture stops bubbling, put in a spray bottle. You can now start and spray on stainless surfaces.

9. Vinegar As Fabric Softener

You can use ½ vinegar as a fabric softener. Add essential oil so it wouldn't smell bad after.

10. Homemade Laundry Detergent From Borax

Put the ivory soap in a microwave bowl and heat for 2 minutes or until the soap turns into foam. Stir the foam and pour borax and washing powder.

Allow to cool completely and put it in a container. When using, put 1-2 tablespoons. Use hot water for best results.
