DIY mouse traps can easily be made using the stuff lying around in your own home. These ideas are also completely humane so you don't have to worry about harming them!

Foolproof DIY Mouse Trap Ideas for an Easy Catch
1. Soda Bottle
Make an easy and effective contraption using a soda bottle and a few extra scraps. While this trap is certainly effective, it also allows for easy cleanup and release.
This trap is the most complicated one on the list yet it's still easy to create!
2. Toilet Paper Tube
Don't throw away those toilet paper tubes just yet! You can make an instant mouse trap by setting the tube on the edge of your table or counter. Then secure it with a bit of weight.
You can do so by taping a few coins on top of it. Next, you're going to set any type of deep bin for the mouse to fall into. Finally, set a tiny food piece at the end of the tube.
3. Soda Cans
Who knew that a bucket, a can, and a smidge of peanut butter can make for an easy mousetrap? String a wire or cord through the can and secure it on top of the bucket.
Coat the can in peanut butter. Once the mouse reaches it, the can will spin and it will fall into the bucket. For extra measure, you can coat the bucket with some oil.
4. Garbage Bin
Using a garbage bin and a few cardboard cutouts, you can easily make a fall trap. First, cut a piece from the cardboard that's big enough to sit on top of the bin.
Cut out a hole in the middle. On both opposite sides of the hole, cut two lines. Once triggered by weight, these will act as slides that will make the mouse fall straight into the hole.
5. Balloon
Yes, you read that right! This balloon mouse trap is effective for trapping several mice at once. Both the pressure from several mice plus their sharp nails will inevitably pop the balloon.
6. Bucket and Plate
This DIY mouse trap is quite similar to the third item on this list. The only difference is instead of a can, you're going to use a plate. Do not secure the wire in the middle of the plate.
Doing so will let you use the off-balance as an advantage. Make sure to set the piece of food on the bigger side. This will make it easier for the plate to tip over.

7. Shoe Box
This is yet another easy fall trap! Cut a hole in the middle of the lid. Afterward, lay a piece of paper towel on top of it. Place a piece of lightweight food on it.
Since the paper towel can't hold too much weight, the mouse will instantly fall into the box. Thus, effectively trapping it! Plus, once you catch them, it's easy to release them.
8. Bucket and CD
Much like every other item in this list, this bucket and cd mouse trap is as easy as it is effective. The combination of the materials and gravity makes for an easy catch.
9. PVC Pipe
If you've got spare PVC pipes lying around, then you've got a perfect use for them now! This mouse trap is easy to assemble, maintain, and store!
One advantage to this is that it's easier to hide. This is perfect for when you want a more inconspicuous trap, letting you maintain the aesthetic of any room you put it into.
10. Large Water Container
This trap will only consist of two materials: the container and a glue gun. Start by removing the upper half of the water container. Flip it and attach it back to the lower half.
Secure the two halves using the glue gun. Then, you're simply going to place the food inside the container. The mice will then fall through the bottleneck with no way out.
11. Glass and Coin
Using a glass and a coin makes for an easy mouse trap. Granted, this trap is more effective on smaller mice, but it's effective nonetheless. Simply prop up a glass on an upright coin.
Coat the inside of the glass with peanut butter to attract the mouse. Once the mouse steps in, the coin will lose its balance, trapping the animal inside. Instead of glass, you can also use hard plastic.
12. Paint Cans
Paint cans are also good for making simple mouse traps. To make use of this, put a paper towel on top of it. Similar to the shoe box trap, place a piece of food on it.
Since most paint cans are not that high, there is a chance that the trapped mice can escape. You can prevent this by coating the insides of the can with oil.
13. Duct Tape
Make an easy sticky mouse trap with only using duct tape! To do this, lay the duct tape on the floor, with the sticky part facing upwards. Cover a large space for better effectiveness.
You can keep them secured by taping them at the ends. Place the bait in the middle of your duct tape pattern. Once the mouse takes the bait, it will be stuck in your duct tape trap.
