What You'll Need:
- Empty wine bottle
- Spray paint
- Match or lighter
- Spray adhesive
- Tissue paper
- Glue
- Paintbrush
- Candlestick
- Knife
Step 1: Prepare Your Project
Protect the area where you'll be doing your wine bottle candle holder. Since you'll be experimenting with designs later on. You'd want to place some covering so as not to damage your flooring and other equipment.
Be sure to clean your empty bottle, and keep in mind to remove the label using soap and water.
Step 2: Decorate Your Wine Bottle

Don't worry if you have to sacrifice a few bottles before you get your desired outcome. Making a wine bottle candle holder isn't rocket science, but it requires some practice and patience. You'd also want to exert your full effort and be as creative as possible.
If you prefer a classy look, simply spray the entire bottle with your preferred color. Ensure that your spray paint is compatible with glass.
For a dramatic look, you can leave some dripped wax on your wine bottle. Just allow your candlestick to melt, and be sure that the wax is dripping evenly on all sides of your bottle. Alternatively, you can use a match or lighter to help you direct the wax where you want it to drip down.
Ensure that your bottle is hollow by gently scraping out the remaining candlestick. Since the wax is soft, apply some spray adhesive onto it to make it protected and to have a stronger grip on your bottle.
You can also opt to make your wine bottle candle holder colorful using scraps of tissue paper. Apply glue onto your bottle, then put pieces of tissue paper until it's completely covered.

Step 3: Fit Your Candle Stick
You'd want your candlestick to fit perfectly into the neck of your wine bottle. Additionally, since you'll be lighting it, you don't want your bottle to be top-heavy as it can cause the candlestick to fall off.
Cut off the excess wax using your knife so the fitting would be just right. You can also break your candlestick so it won't extend too high from the top of your wine bottle.
Step 4: Light Your Candle Stick
Once you're sure that your candlestick is tightly secured into your bottle, you can now proceed and light it up. Expect the wax to drip down your wine bottle, and it might even reach the surface where your bottle is sitting. You can place a plate or any base of your choice under your wine bottle to catch the dripping wax.
