Google recently revealed the top-searched Halloween costumes state-by-state and city-by-city. Cool in its own right, it's also a great way for us crafty folks to avoid wearing the same costume as everyone else!

Google Reveals Top-Searched Halloween Costumes State-By-State (INFOGRAPHIC)
If you're the type who likes to stand out, avoid the top costume in your city/state and any themes/characters related to it. If you're the type who like to trend, pick an ensemble that jives with your city/state's most-searched Halloween costume. No matter which route you go, there's sure to be simple DIY steps to achieve your ideal costume.
The findings, dubbed Frightgeist, are made possible by the staggering 3 billion searches made on Google everyday. Google News Lab crunches the data and is able to do everything, “from powering to insightful journalism to helping you pick out your Halloween costume.”
Google reports, “With Frightgeist, we went on a hunt to find the most popular costumes. Pulling from the top 500 costume searches in the United States, Frightgeist uses Google Trends to tell you what's trending at a costume party near you and help you find a costume that's sure to turn heads — if they have them.”
