How to Paint Flowers | Easy Painting Ideas
Next time you are on the hunt for the perfect greeting card or stationary, look no further than your craft cupboard. These flowers are fun and easy to create with acrylic paint, and they look perfect gracing a greeting card or the edges of stationary paper.
What you'll need to paint flowers:
- flat-edged paintbrush
- regular paintbrush
- acrylic paint in white and several other colors
- cardstock or stationary paper
- water (to clean the brush between colors)
- paper plate or cardboard for mixing colors
Step 1
Dip one side of the flat brush in white paint, and the other side in red paint. Using your paper plate, brush the colors together until they blend, creating a smooth ombre effect.
Step 2
Then, using gentle, curving strokes, create petals on the cardstock. Let the first layer of petals dry, then move inward and create a second layer.
Step 3
When you're done adding petals, use the regular paintbrush to place a sprinkling of dots in the center of the rose. Use the same brush to paint in stems and leaves.
Use your new, colorful stationery to write a letter or note to a loved one!
