What You Need To Make Buffalo Chicken Dip:
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. skinless boneless chicken breast
- 12 oz+ of Hidden Vally ranch dressing
- 12 oz+ of Frank’s RedHot hot sauce
- 16 oz. (2 packages) Regular Philadelphia cream cheese
- 8 oz. shredded Mexican blend cheese
Tools:
- 2 qt. crock pot
- 2 qt+ pot (to heat sauce)
- 4 qt+ pot or pan (to boil chicken)
- stand mixer or food processor (to shred chicken)
- knives, spatulas and other typical kitchen tools
Step 1: Cook The Chicken
Start by trimming off any fat from your chicken breasts and then cutting them into 1-2 inch chunks. Now cook the chicken. While you can cook it in several ways, you want the chicken to not brown or lose any moisture. You can do this by boiling the chicken in water. Place all the chunks of chicken into a pot or pan and throw in enough water to cover all the chicken. Cook it on medium to high heat, stirring it every 5 minutes.
Step 2: Make The Sauce
Start by cutting the cream cheese into small pieces. You’ll also need a 1:1 ratio of Frank’s hot sauce to ranch dressing. Measure out 12 oz. of both Frank’s hot sauce and ranch dressing and throw it into another pan, along with the pieces of cream cheese.
Set the heat to medium-low and stir the three ingredients together. If it starts to bubble, lower the heat. Make sure to break the cream cheese apart very well with the spatula. The finished result should have a salmon-type color.
Step 3: Shred The Chicken
Once the chicken is done drain it with a strainer, throw all of the chunks in a mixing bowl and let them cool. Now shred the chicken with your stand mixer, setting it to low for about 2 to 3 minutes. If you don’t have a stand mixer available, use any alternative to shred the chicken pieces.
Step 4: Mix Shredded Chicken & Sauce
Now add the shredded chicken and sauce to the crock pot. Grab a spoon or spatula and mix everything well.
Step 5: Heat In The Crock Pot
Set your crock pot to high and heat your chicken + sauce mixture for at least 30 minutes. Stir it to make sure everything is mixing fully. Now taste the dip to see how hot it is. If it’s not hot enough, add some more hot sauce. If the dip is too hot, add more ranch.
Step 6: Serve!
When the buffalo chicken dip is ready, serve it hot.
