There is a chill in the air! The weather is changing and your body must adapt to the change of season. But what if your body doesn't want to? You don't want to end up staying in bed because you've caught a cold or the flu. Here is a homemade remedy that is a quick and easy way to help your body heal faster.

Honey, lemon and ginger are widely used and recognized to help heal colds and the flu individually. When these three ingredients are combined, it makes for a great remedy. Aside from flu and cold, it can also relieve many symptoms such as infection and inflammation.

Here are a few of the benefits and natural properties you can get on honey, lemon and ginger.

  • Honey – Its make up consists of glucose (31.3%), fructose (38.2%), and minerals such as iron, calcium, sodium chlorine, potassium, magnesium, phosphate. It is an antibacterial, has anti-inflammatory properties, a cough suppressor, antioxidant, antitumor and antiviral. Make sure not to use honey on children under 2 years of age.
  • Lemon – Contains many substances such as citric acid, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, pectin, and limonene – these promote immunity and fight infection, is an antiviral and anti-inflammatory, aids in digestion, and effective against human respiratory syncytial virus.
  • Ginger – Is used for treating loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting after surgery, nausea resulting from cancer treatment, flatulence, upset stomach, colic, morning sickness and motion sickness.
