Before you proceed in making this awesome DIY headboard, we have to make sure that all the tools and materials you need are within your reach. This will make you job a lot easier and convenient. Tools For This Simple DIY Project:
- Drill
- Measuring Tape
Supplies For The Headboard:
- 6 – Dog – eared fence posts (purchased at Lowe's)
- 2 – 1″ x 2″ x 6ft
- 24 – 1″ wood screws
Steps:
1. Make the layout
Plan the arrangement of the posts first to know how it would look like.
Tip: Cut off the tips of the fence posts to make both ends even.
2. Drill 'em!
Use the cut portion of the fence posts as spacers of the posts when you place them. It's up to you on what kind of reference you'll need for the spacer. Flip the layout over and drill them into place.
3. Mount your new headboard in place.
You can stain if you feel like adding a more aesthetic touch, or keep it as it is. This headboard is so easy to make and won't hurt your budget.
