How To Make Felt Dandelions Throw Pillow Covers
Step 1: Trace Circles
Keep all the materials you need handy. For our first step, we will be tracing circles on our patterned felt fabric. Use a template for the circle like a bottle cap. It is nice if you have different sizes of circles.
Step 2: Cut The Circles
Next, get a good pair of scissors and cut out the circles you have traced earlier.
Step 3: Make The Dandelion Petals
To make your dandelion petals, you need to make smaller circles using the black felt cloth. Make various sizes of your dandelion petals. Once you have these smaller circles, glue them on the patterned felt fabric.
Step 4: Cut Strips Using The Black Felt Cloth
Let’s take out your remaining black felt fabric, and cut out thin strips of black felt in varying lengths to create the stems. It’s OK if the stems are not straight. A little curve adds character. This will be your dandelion’s stem.
Step 5: Draw Lines
Imagine how you would like to position your black stems on the felt cover. Then, with your pencil, draw lightly on the felt cover some guide lines where you will be gluing the stems.
Step 6: Gluing The Stems
Now it’s hot glue time! Hot glue over the line then stick-on your black stems.
Step 7: Gluing The Dandelions
Once you are done with the black stems, arrange the dandelions on its tip and check out how it looks. If you are satisfied with the arrangement, hot glue the pieces into place and you're all done.
