How to Make a Chocolate Bowl with a Balloon | Dessert Ideas
I've been seeing this chocolate bowl a quite a lot and with my inquisitive nature, I just had to find out how it was made and share it to y'all. Can you just think of the desserts you can make with this edible bowl? You can put ice cream, fruits or anything you can think of. It's a guaranteed hit with your friends and family. The kids will love it! This would be perfect for parties and an amazing sweet treat for the weekend. So let's get started!
What you'll need to make chocolate bowls:
- water balloons
- pin or scissors
- parchment or wax paper
- ice cream (or whatever you'd like to put in your edible bowl)
Melt your chocolate and let it cool to room temperature with constant stirring.
Blow your water balloons. Set them aside in a tray to keep them clean. The number of balloons you need to make should be how many bowls you'd want.
Lay your parchment or wax paper out in a tray and put about a tablespoon of chocolate on it. Spread it evenly in a circular motion creating a small circle.
Dip your balloon in your chocolate. Make sure that you get enough chocolate on it before putting it on top of the chocolate you spread earlier.
Repeat step 4 until you have all the chocolate bowls that you need and let it dry. It would take about 20 minutes for it to dry completely and you will see a change on how it looks. You'll know it's dry when the chocolate has a matte finish and no longer shiny.
Now that it's dry, the fun part begins! Take a pin or something sharp to pop the balloon. If it's your first time, it would be advisable for you to use scissors instead. Carefully cut the top part of the balloon and let the air out gradually.
The balloon should separate from the chocolate on it's own so you shouldn't worry. Remove the popped balloon and gently pull the bowl from the parchment or wax paper.
Put it in a small plate, add your dessert of choice and enjoy!
