How To Get Jennifer Lawrence’s Everyday Look

ouTube’s top makeup artist Casey Holmes shows us how to get Jennifer Lawrence’s look from her newest movie, JOY.
In JOY, JLaw sports natural, radiant makeup that doubles as a perfect everyday or date night look. The look is rooted in soft browns and coral pinks — colors that complement most skin tones and give almost anyone a fresh-faced appearance. Holmes take us through each step to achieve Jennifer Lawrence’s onscreen look.

Step 1
To get started, prime the eyes with NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. In the tutorial, Casey doubles up on her primer by adding a layer of Smashbox’ 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer. If your eyelids get super oily throughout the day, you may want to do the same. The more primer, the better!
Step 2
If you have downward-sloping eyes or are doing a look that requires angled eyeshadow, a great way to add lift and definition to your look is to take two pieces of scotch tape, remove excess stickiness by applying them to the back of your hand and apply the tape from the edge of your eye upward.
This is a great trick to know, especially when doing smokey eyes.
Step 3
Next, you’re going to take a taupey brown shade (see photo below), a 217 blending brush and start by applying color to the outer corner of your eye and then blending upwards towards the crease. You’re going to create a V shape and drag the color from the corner into your crease.
Step 4
For hooded eyes, take a light eyeshadow and pat it on the center of the lid. Take the same 217 brush and blend the color into the crease. After blending, remove the tape.
Step 5
Apply your foundation and concealer. After you’ve finished applying, it’s time to move on to the bronzer! Casey uses Hourglass’ Radiant Bronze Light and applies it on her cheeks and forehead for color and definition.
Step 6
Next you’re going to apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. Casey uses Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Blush in Sensuous Rose.
Step 7
It’s time to move on to the eyes. Only fill in the natural shape of your eyebrows with Anastasia Pomade in Soft Brown.
Step 8
After you’ve finished filling in your brows, take your lightest, most shimmery eyeshadow (see photo below) and use it as a highlighter underneath your brow’s arch.
Now blend the brown upwards towards the brow to remove any harsh lines.
Step 9
Apply a light coat of mascara on your lashes and once you’ve done so, take the same brown you used on your crease and apply it from the outer corner of your bottom lash line to the center of your eye. This will give your eyes more definition.

Last, but not least, you’re going to apply Kevyn Aucoin’s Matte Lip Color in Timeless with a fluffy brush starting with the center of your lips and then moving outwards.
And you’re done! This look is absolutely perfect for everyday makeup or as a flirty nighttime look.
