Cool DIY Projects for Men That are Ridiculously Awesome
Most men I know are more adventurous when it comes to taking on DIY projects. It could be because of their woodworking skills, or maybe, they’re just ready to accept any DIY challenge that comes their way. So today, I’m sharing this list of cool DIY projects for men we have set our eyes on recently. I hope you find one that you really like!
1. DIY Log Lounger
When I saw this DIY log lounger, I immediately asked my husband to make one. It’s very unique. It’s also a perfect addition to any farmhouse or rustic homes. This project is practically begging us to be made and since we have leftover logs, my husband and I (his little helper) are more than willing to take it on!
2. DIY Long End Table
While we’re on the subject of leftover logs, this is another project that can utilize leftover logs you have at home. HomeMadeModern shares this easy tutorial on how to make your own DIY log end table.
3. DIY Floating Sideboard IKEA Hack
We surely love those IKEA hacks, don’t we? Now this DIY floating sideboard IKEA hack from Li0nsmane can be a challenging project to take on, but the step-by-step instructions will be a big help! We’re planning to do this, but perhaps, just a smaller version as we just don’t have enough space for it.
4. DIY Modern House Number Plaque
We love this and I’m so excited to share this project with you. I’m proud to say that this is actually the first DIY project on this list that my husband completed. This DIY modern house number plaque was a breeze to do and it’s now on full display on our porch.
5. DIY Wood Mat
I’d like to call this project a sequel to the number plaque project above, so it might be a good call to take on these two projects together. This DIY wood mat looks great with the plaque when placed in your home’s entryway.
6. DIY Floating Desk
Now, this is an ideal DIY project for those empty awkward spaces at home. Bob from I Like to Make Stuff teaches us how to make a simple floating desk and I’m in love with it! That little nook looks very cozy now, right?
7. DIY Electric Lantern
Remember when you put those oil lanterns on display for Thanksgiving? You've probably put them in storage now, but please, take them out and turn them into functional electric lanterns! These lanterns have a vintage appeal that can also make it a great décor at home. But more than that, it will come in handy on your next camping trip!
8. DIY PVC Organizer Cubby
Are you in need of extra storage at home? Ditch the plastic storage boxes for now and opt for something more decorative. The Awesomer will teach you how to make a storage cubby from PVC pipes and they’re perfect for storing bottles, candles, and small toys!
9. DIY Secret Stash Book
Men like to have their own secret stash. And what’s one of the most popular secret stashes in the world? Books! Rob Czar’s tutorial on how to make a secret stash book will teach you the trick. Oh, and please make sure you only use an old book for this project.

10. DIY Bookcase and Secret Door
If a secret stash book is not enough, maybe you like making a secret door/bookcase better! I’ve always been fond of these secret doors whenever I watch movies. What I didn’t expect is that this secret door is actually doable! Bob from I Like to Make Stuff will guide you through the steps.
11. DIY Dodecahedron Pendant Light
What about a lighting project? Honestly, this DIY dodecahedron lamp is not only a challenge to say, but the project itself is not for the faint-hearted. Nonetheless, if you’re ready to take this one, the final product is truly worth the time and effort. This pendant light will look great anywhere in your home!
12. DIY Flower Pot Grill and Smoker
I must say, this is one quirky project! Cottage Life DIY shares how you can turn flower pots into a grill and smoker. You probably can’t get a cheaper grill than this! Those grilled sausages are making me hungry!
13. DIY Boat Shelf
What is that? A boat shelf? You must be kidding me!—was my first reaction when my husband told me about this project. When I saw this, my jaw dropped and told him he has to make one A.S.A.P.! Actually, he did, but it was a smaller version for the kid’s room (my son loves it, by the way). He said it was easy to do and great for beginner woodworkers.
14. DIY Rustic Pallet Wood Trunk
I’m in love with this project! If there’s one thing we don’t have at home (yet!), that’s a huge trunk where I can store our beddings, linens, throws, and whatnot. And since I love rustic anything and everything, this rustic trunk with hidden compartment from SimpleCove is on top of the list at the moment.
15. DIY Fire Pit Table Top
How about a simple outdoor project? Fire pits are very popular during winter. But once the cold weather starts to go away, your fire pit doesn’t look as inviting anymore. Thankfully, this DIY fire pit table top project will bring life to your fire pit when spring arrives!
