Your food is almost ready. Everything on the table is set. You're opening a bottle of wine when you realize that you need some grated cheese to top off your perfect dinner. You open your refrigerator, but you're all out. Lucky for you, you've got a block of cheese waiting to be shredded. You set the block of cheese down and open your cabinet to find your cheese grater, but it's no where to be found. You look and you look and no luck. There's no cheese grater.
Ugh.
Now your meal is ruined…

Do you have a can laying around your house? If your answer is yes, THEN YOU DO HAVE A CHEESE GRATER. With the help of a screwdriver, you can quickly make your own cheese grater thanks to Instructables' user ShakeTheFuture.
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
What You Need:
- soda can
- can opener
- screwdriver

1. Empty out a soda (or beer) and wash it.
2. Cut the top off of the can using a can opener. Wash the inside as well as you can. Be careful with the jagged aluminum on top.
3. Using a screwdriver, poke holes on one side of the can in close proximity to each other, similar to a cheese grater. With the top of the can facing upward, put the screw driver back in each hole and bend them downwards a bit to create the blades that will shred your cheese.
4. Grab your cheese!
5. Use your DIY grater to shred that cheese to pieces. Most of the cheese will get stuck inside the can, so empty it out when you're finished.
