DIY Glitter Globe | How to Make a Snow Globe With Glitter

Don't you just love colorful and sparkly things? Well me and my daughter do, we just adore them. Recently we've been looking into what room decors she can add to her room and she guess what she found? Glitter globes! Wondering what they are? They have the same concept as snow globes just more colorful. So if you're looking for an easy DIY project to make, add a little DIY room decor or a gift idea for your family and friends, this is the craft project to try!

What you'll need to make your glitter globe:

  • mason jar or any jar
  • glitters
  • glue (epoxy, strong glue or hot glue)
  • glycerine
  • distilled or bottled water
  • your trinket (small toy or in this tutorial, we used makeups)
  • spray paint
  • clear silicone adhesive sealant (optional)

Step 1

Take the lid off your jar and spray paint it with your color of choice. This is an optional step but it makes the glitter globe look so much better.

Step 2

Once the paint has dried, take your makeup and test out how you'd like to place it inside the jar. Be sure that nothing interferes when you close the lid.

Step 3

Now that you know how you like it. Take your glue and start gluing your makeup on the lid. Let it dry.

Step 4

While waiting for the glue to dry, fill your jar with distilled water. Don't fill it all the way up since we'll still be adding the lid with the makeup and may cause it to spill. Add about a dash of glycerine and lastly, your glitters!

NOTE: We add glycerine to create a better consistency where the glitters will float around longer.

Step 5

Gently dunk your makeup in the jar and close the lid tightly.

Step 6

Admire your crafty work and give it a little shake (to make sure it doesn't spill).

TIP: In case you're using a regular jar, you can also add some clear silicone adhesive sealant to ensure that no water spills out.

And you're done! Wasn't that a fun and easy craft project to make. You can use anything to put inside your glitter jar and play around with the color too. Try making one today!
