Camila Alves says when she first married her husband Matthew McConaughey, she could only cook one dish — on her “luckiest day.” Things have changed.
Alves has adapted to an increasingly hectic life by fine-tuning creative hacks and, yes, learning her way around the kitchen. She has to: she's a mother to three kids under seven, a prolific blogger and designer and wife to McConaughey.
People Magazine reports that the 33 year old is now channeling her hard-earned DIY skills into a crafty lifestyle site WomenofToday.com, which launched yesterday.
“Throughout the years I have learned that I love anything to do with cooking, decorating, kid activities, beauty and fashion, [and] if I can teach something that I have learned and make anyone's life easier, as it did for me, then that makes me happy!” she tells People.
WomenOfToday offers tips aplenty, kid-friendly recipes, craft projects, beauty posts and aggregated news. According to People, the site arose from Alves' desire to share with – and learn from – other moms and women around the globe.
“I was motivated to launch WomenofToday.com from the idea that we as women are a community,” she says. “We learn from each other every day in many different ways! That's why I use the line: ‘All of us all the time!'
“The goal is that everything you see on the site should be affordable – with the exception of special occasions of course! – and super easy to make. So if you have never cooked, done crafts or styled your hair in a certain way before, we make it easy and accessible so that you can do it!”
Alves will host a streamed video show called Camila's Code every Wednesday at 11 a.m. EST with cooking and craft demos.
