Happy Independence Day!!! So you want to rep the ol' red white and blue in a classic way? Try out this sunhat and scarf DIY for a fun way to stay cool this National holiday!
For a patriotic American flag hat you will need:
- a sunhat
- a scarf in red white and blue
- scissors
I found my hat at a farmers market for just a couple of dollars, and I had this American flag scarf on hand.
Step 1: Cut holes
Cut two holes on either side of the hat, towards the back side. So they're not quite in the middle, and will fall behind your ears. You can reinforce your holes with thread or glue if you so desire.
Step 2: Add scarf
Wrap your scarf around the front of the hat and poke it through the two holes. Arrange the front center of your hat nicely so you are happy with the way it falls.
Step 3: Wear it!
Place the hat over your head, and tie a knot with the two tails of the scarf in the back behind your head. You can also tie them in a cute bow.
Now wear your new hat, and keep your head protected from the scorching sun all day long. You can even switch out the scarf for other styles and wear it all summer. Have a great holiday! Thanks for checking out our DIY Fourth Of July Hat Tutorial!
